Kier Starmer and the Sun Newspaper by Ann Smith

I may be proven wrong about the newly appointed UK Labour leader, Kier Starmer, and his future battles. These may not be the impact of COVID-19, the incompetent charm of Boris Johnson, or the capricious nature of Labour party members.  He has his enemies in the Sun newspaper, and this might be his struggle.  The UK Sun newspaper is worrying influential, read by the working class but a Conservative controlled read.  A dreadful, gossipy journal that bullies’, politicians, and celebrities in a vicious style.   The Sun was first published in 1964 and was established as a working class read – including salacious gossip, good sports reporting, and topless women on page 3 – probably contributing to its popularity on construction sites.  I recall hearing groups of men discussing the breasts of the daily page 3 model as this was considered acceptable in misogynistic 1970s Britain.  Over time and under different owners. The Sun developed from Labour support to Conservative support.

Kier Starmer the New British Labour Party Leader and Kier Hardie the 1st Labour Leader: By Ann Smith.

Kier Hardie Kier Starmer.   The name itself induces curiosity; an unusual name, a little magical, I have never taught a student named Kier in many years of teaching in the UK.   The UK Labour party members now have Kier Starmer as their leader he replaces Jeremy Corbyn who lost to Boris Johnson at the last General Election.   At this news, I was elated during this truly miserable pandemic decimating our world.   Labour has a new leader!   He is called Kier Starmer!   He’s a Disney hero!   Starmer can save Britain!   Handsome and appealing to so many working class and middle-class families.   His wife is educated, good-looking, has two children, and Kier has a full head of hair!   OK, he is white – better to be from the Caribbean, Asian or of African descent to really grab multicultural Britain, but certainly Kier ticks many voting boxes. Kier Starmer may be an ideal politician for the British voter. Born into an upper working-class family 55 years ago (I know this stuff; I ha

Donovan Reynolds CEO Kingstonmouth.com As the COVID-19 pandemic escalates, and its effects reverberate around the world there is no doubt that an urgent multilateral approach is necessary. Especially, when more than 2.7 million people have been infected with COVID-19 and nearly 190,000 have died from it since the new coronavirus emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan late last year, according to a May 1st Reuters tally. An impromptu grouping of 20 world leaders and global health figures were on the online  call, including the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, the French president, Emmanuel Macron, and the American philanthropist Bill Gates met last week to raise funding to fight the global coronavirus pandemic.  Similarly, the United Kingdom will co-chair a joint coronavirus global response summit on 4 May aimed at raising funds for vaccine research, treatments, and tests. As Scientists around the world are scrambling to create the first vaccine for the deadly coronaviru
